A B1 Preliminary (PET) qualification shows that you have mastered the basics of English and now have practical language skills for everyday use.

It is an English language exam at Level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). There isn’t a specific age for taking B1 Preliminary but the topics and content of the exam are more suited to older teens and people who have left school.
